District 6 Crime Summary for the week ending January 20, 2009

P1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm street robbery occurred on Muddy Branch Road at West Deer Park Road in Gaithersburg on Thursday, 1/15 around 10:00 p.m. The 18-year-old male victim was approached by four suspects who struck him and took his property. Suspects fled the scene and one was arrested nearby.
  • A deceased 15-year-old male from Prince George’s County was discovered next to a stream in the Malcolm King Park at the end of School Drive in Gaithersburg. The incident is being investigated as a homicide. It is not yet known when and where the victim was killed.

P2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 100 block of Cherrywood Terrace in Gaithersburg on Monday, 1/20 between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. No force used but property was removed.

R1 Beat:

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 700 block of Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg on Friday, 1/16 around 11:50 a.m. The suspect knocked down a female victim and grabbed her purse. He was arrested nearby.
  • An armed robbery occurred along the path by Lake Whetstone near Lake Shore Drive in Montgomery Village on Sunday, 1/18 around 9:20 p.m. Two suspects approached the two juvenile victims armed with knives and demanded their property. Both victims suffered cuts to their hands and one was punched about the head.

    Suspect: B/M 5’8” to 6’0”, 190 lbs., black hoodie, black bandana, teardrop tattoo over right eye
    Suspect: B/M 6’0”, afro, black hoodie, black bandana

  • Three residential garage burglaries occurred in the 18900 block of Blue Heron Lane in Gaithersburg overnight between Monday, 1/19 and Tuesday, 1/20. Suspects entered the garages and removed a 1993 Honda Accord and a motorcycle.
  • A residential garage burglary occurred in the 8700 block of Waxwing Terrace in Gaithersburg overnight between Monday, 1/19 and Tuesday, 1/20. Suspects entered the garage and removed property.
  • A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village on Friday, 1/16. A red Honda Civic was removed.
  • An attempted theft of a vehicle occurred in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village on Friday, 1/16. Suspects attempted to take a 1996 Acura.

    Suspect: H/M 20-25, 5’7” to 6’0”, 150-160 lbs., black striped shirt, blue jeans
    Suspect: B/M 20-25, 5’7” to 6’0”, 150-170 lbs., black jacket, black jeans

R2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 19600 block of Brassie Place in Montgomery Village on Saturday, 1/17. Suspects were arrested at the scene.
  • A residential garage burglary occurred in the 20500 block of Addenbrook Way in Montgomery Village on Monday 1/19 between 2:00 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. Two unlocked vehicles inside were searched and loose items were taken.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 18900 block of Smoothstone Way in Gaithersburg on Friday, 1/16. Suspects entered an unlocked vehicle but no property was taken.

    Suspect: Female 5’6” to 5’7” 130-140 lbs., wearing a black jacket and grey sweatpants

  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 18900 block of Smoothstone Way in Gaithersburg on Monday, 1/19. Suspects entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a car stereo.

S1 Beat:

  • An attempted theft of a vehicle occurred at Victory Farm Drive and Fallbrook Street in Gaithersburg on Thursday, 1/15 around 11:30 p.m. Suspects tried to tamper with the ignition of a 1992 Ford van, but ended up only taking a DVD player, CDs, and a stereo. Three suspects were arrested nearby.
  • A rape of an adult female occurred on Sunday, 1/18 between 3:00 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. at an unknown location after the victim was abducted as she walked in Olde Towne, Gaithersburg. Three adult male suspects drove up in a red or burgundy SUV. One man got out and pulled the victim into the vehicle. They drove for a short distance and the assault occurred in a field without houses or buildings near by. She was dropped off near the Redmill Shopping Center on Muncaster Mill Road.

    Suspect: H/M, 25 to 30 yrs, 5’4” to 5’5”, 150 – 160 lbs., short black hair
    Suspect: H/M, 25 to 30 yrs., 5’7” to 5’8”, 150 – 170 lbs., long black hair, slicked back, sideburns, goatee
    Suspect: H/M, 25 to 30 yrs., 5’4” – 5’5”, 150 – 180 lbs., short black hair
    Vehicle: Red or burgundy, 4-door SUV, tan interior with back bench seat

P1 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred on School Drive in Gaithersburg on Tuesday, 1/6 between 7:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Forced entry and property was removed.
  • A theft of vehicle parts occurred in the 100 block of Holdcroft Lane in Gaithersburg overnight from Thursday, 1/8 into Friday, 1/9. Suspects removed four tires and wheels from a 2001 Honda.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg overnight from Thursday, 1/8 into Friday, 1/9. Suspects broke the window and removed a GPS unit.
  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg overnight from Thursday, 1/8 into Friday, 1/9. Suspects broke the window on each vehicle and removed a GPS unit from each vehicle.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg overnight from Thursday, 1/8 into Friday, 1/9. Suspects forced entry into the vehicle and removed the car stereo.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 15600 block of Marathon Circle in Gaithersburg overnight from Friday, 1/09 into Saturday, 1/10. Suspects broke the window and removed a GPS unit.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg overnight from Saturday, 1/10 into Sunday, 1/11. Suspects broke the window and removed a GPS unit, digital camera, and a laptop computer.
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg overnight from Saturday, 1/10 into Sunday, 1/11. Suspects broke the window and removed a GPS unit, GPS charger, and utility knife.

P2 Beat:

  • A sexual assault occurred inside the Zodiac Grill on Centre Point Way in Gaithersburg on Thursday, 1/8. Inappropriate sexual contact occurred between a 22-year-old female victim and a male employee in his 30’s.
  • A garage burglary occurred in the 11900 block of Bayswater Road in Gaithersburg between Sunday, 1/11 and Monday, 1/12. Suspect entered an open garage and removed a bicycle.

R1 Beat:

  • An aggravated assault occurred at the Wendy’s, 18350 Contour Road in Montgomery Village on Tuesday, 1/06. This issue was domestic and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
  • A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 18900 block of Dairy Road in Gaithersburg overnight from Monday, 1/5 into Tuesday, 1/6. Suspects stole a 1999 Volvo station wagon.
  • A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village overnight from Thursday, 1/8 into Friday, 1/9. Suspects stole a 1994 Honda Civic.
  • A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 9800 block of Hellingly Place in Montgomery Village overnight from Sunday, 1/11 into Monday 1/12. Suspects stole a 1994 Honda Accord.
  • A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 8800 block of Cochrane Court in Montgomery Village on Monday, 1/12. Suspects stole a 1994 Honda Accord.

R2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7400 block of Rosewood Manor Drive in Gaithersburg on Monday, 1/5 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Forced entry and property was removed.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 20400 block of Sawgrass Drive in Gaithersburg on Monday, 1/5 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Forced entry. Unknown what was taken.
