Channel 4 reports:
Police in Gaithersburg asked the public for help in finding those responsible for several street robberies in the area.
The robberies, some armed with a handgun, occurred in the night hours along Muddy Branch Road in December and January, investigators said.
Police said they think the seven robberies could be related. Most of the cases involve small groups of people approaching and robbing victims as they get out of their car or walk home from a bus stop.
Authorities were looking for three to four young black men between the ages of 16 and 22, usually wearing dark clothing with masks or bandannas over their faces.
The robbers usually stole cash or cell phones from their victims.
Anyone with information should call the Gaithersburg Police Department Investigative Section at 305-258-6400. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Gaithersburg Tip line at 301-330-4471.
